CHBA-NL is looking for a Post Secondary Business Student to fill the role of Marketing and Communications Assistant from June 2 to August 22, 2025.
The core purpose of the CHBA-NL is to assist its members in serving the needs and meeting the aspirations of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians. The CHBA-NL exists to be the voice of the residential construction industry in Newfoundland and Labrador, achieve an environment in which our membership can operate successfully, and promote affordability and choice in housing for all Newfoundlanders and Labradorians.
The Marketing and Communications Assistant will function collaboratively as a member of the Canadian Home Builders’ Association – Newfoundland and Labrador team and is responsible for marketing and communications across the organization’s membership and its stakeholders. Responsibilities will include compiling, reviewing and editing marketing materials for CHBA-NL’s flagship event the annual Home Show and other events. This promotion is expected to produce positive results for CHBA-NL, its members and increased participation and attendance of the organization’s annual Home Show.
The ideal candidate would be working towards a degree or diploma in Business Administration with a concentration in marketing and communications. They would have the ability to be creative and have formal training in marketing, design or a related field, combined with experience in a similar role. Possession of excellent written and oral communication skills, computer skills with proficiencies in Microsoft Office products, WordPress based CMS, and social media are required.
Experience with event planning and publications are considered an asset. The candidate must be very organized and able to prioritize tasks. Candidate must be able to work independently, handle multiple tasks, and able to work in an environment where tight timelines/deadlines are normal course and last-minute changes are given. Must be a post secondary student returning to studies in the Fall.
